What a front changes
High pressure and a bright sky push bass tight against whatever cover they can find, and shrinks how far they will move for a meal.
They are not gone. They are three feet from where they were, and they will not chase.
The adjustment
Slow down and get closer. Downsize. Put the bait in the cover, not near it. Expect the strike to be a soft pressure rather than a thump.
Multiple casts to the same spot are not wasted. A fish that ignored the first two often takes the fifth.
